Ridder will serve as a managing director in the agency’s Mobilization & Campaign Management practice.
Building on the momentum of a successful election year, Precision has hired the former national states director of Biden for President, Jenn Ridder, as a managing director to lead the agency’s Mobilization & Campaign Management practice.
Jenn brings over a decade of experience working on successful political campaigns, most recently as the national states director of Biden for President. During an election cycle where the “pandemic reshaped election campaigns – maybe forever,” according to Wired, Jenn successfully innovated and built an operation that mobilized a record number of votes for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She led a team of nearly 3,000 organizing and political staff in 17 battleground states and 15 expansion states, oversaw a $120 million budget, approved more than $100 million in TV, digital, and direct mail for mobilization and GOTV, and helped develop an innovative digital organizing strategy to reach voters during a pandemic. Before joining the Biden campaign, she started the 2020 election cycle as campaign manager for Governor Steve Bullock’s bid for the presidency.
As managing director, Jenn will provide clients with state of the art organizing, data targeting, political strategy, and overall movement building expertise. She will build on the agency’s leading record of creating integrated, data-driven programs that help clients meet their goals — whether it’s a corporation targeting new consumers, a political campaign driving votes for a candidate, a social movement amplifying a cause, or a coalition that’s just getting started. Jenn will help clients advance their goals and organizational priorities in a changing national landscape.
“Jenn is one of the best and most sophisticated campaign managers across both political parties, and we are lucky to have her on our team,” said Stephanie Cutter, co-founder at Precision. “From data-driven messaging to effective mobilization, she knows how to engage, persuade, and mobilize critical audiences and lead a team to success.”
In 2018, Jenn served as campaign manager for Jared Polis’s successful bid for governor of Colorado, helping him overcome a competitive primary and general election. She organized the largest gubernatorial field program in Colorado history — with over 6,000 volunteers and 65 paid organizers — in what The Denver Post called “one of the most disciplined campaigns in modern history.” The victory marked a historic moment as Polis was elected as the nation’s first openly gay governor.
“Jenn’s resume speaks for itself. She is an incredibly talented and successful organizer, and a delightful colleague and manager,” said Teddy Goff, co-founder at Precision. “Jenn will bring unparalleled expertise to our clients looking to mobilize and move people to action.”
Previously, Jenn worked as the Mountain West political director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee where she recruited congressional candidates and oversaw Democratic congressional campaigns in 13 states from Iowa to Nevada. She was the deputy campaign manager for Mark Udall’s Senate campaign in 2014 and previously worked on both of President Obama’s campaigns. She recently received a “40 Under 40” award from the American Association of Political Consultants.
“2020 proved that modern campaigns must continually innovate and integrate in order to win,” said Jenn. “Precision embodies this ethos like no other team in politics, bringing a comprehensive, data-driven approach to campaigns and organizing. I’ve always admired how Stephanie and Teddy push the boundaries and sweat the details, which is what makes their work the highest quality in the industry. I’m excited to bring together Precision’s data edge, communications expertise, digital innovations, and organizing tactics to build winning campaigns across the country.”
