Precision Hires New York Times Veteran Journalist and Strategic Communications Expert, Ed Wyatt

Ed Wyatt joins Precision as a Director in the Strategic Communications practice.

To build on our history of award-winning, innovative, effective, and compelling campaigns, Precision is excited to welcome New York Times veteran journalist and strategic communications expert, Ed Wyatt, as a new Director in the Strategic Communications practice.

With over 28 years of experience as a reporter, including two decades at the New York Times,  and several years of developing communications strategies for clients including Fortune 100 companies, Ed will help elevate the agency’s strategic storytelling as well as editorial capabilities.

As a journalist Ed covered a broad array of topics, including business and finance, education, the post-9/11 rebuilding of the World Trade Center site, the 2004 Democratic presidential primaries, the book publishing business, the television industry, financial regulation, telecommunications, technology policy, antitrust, and even the Tour de France. He was part of a New York Times team that won a Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism for coverage of the collapse of Long-Term Capital Management.

After leaving journalism, Ed worked as a Senior Vice President at Sphere Consulting in Washington, D.C., where he led high-level public affairs campaigns for clients including a major financial services company. In 2017, he moved to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Senior Communications Officer, overseeing media relations, strategic communications, and executive communications for the foundation’s U.S. Program. He fostered solid relations with national and local media earning significant publicity and a visibility boost for the foundation and its programs, including the U.S. Economic Mobility & Opportunity program.

Ed graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and political science. He earned an MBA from Syracuse University.
