Precision Adds Crisis Expert Mitchell Schwenz to Awarding-Winning Communications Practice

Schwenz is a valuable addition to Precision’s already best-in-class corporate, crisis, and public affairs offerings.

Today, Precision announced the addition of seasoned communications professional Mitchell Schwenz as a Senior Vice President in Communications. Mitchell brings more than 12 years of experience engaging global audiences in environments ranging from Capitol Hill to Wall Street, Silicon Valley to Hollywood. He has executed effective crisis communications strategies and high-profile reputation management programs for some of the most recognizable brands and individuals, including CBS Viacom, Tesla, SXSW, Leonardo DiCaprio, UnitedHealth Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Environmental Defense Fund.

Most recently, Mitchell served as Senior Director for APCO Worldwide where he advised clients across a range of sectors on corporate reputation and corporate affairs challenges, including COVID-19 transformation strategies, high profile transactions, restructurings, leadership transitions, brand launches, corporate governance matters, and legal and regulatory affairs. He also led the development of the firm’s global media and entertainment practice, while working with iconic business and philanthropic leaders on sustainability, ESG strategies, and purpose communications.

At Precision, Mitchell will add his global corporate affairs expertise to a team that won Public Affairs Agency of the Year at the 2020 Global & North American SABRE Awards and Outstanding Small Agency at the 2020 PRWeek Awards. “Mitchell has shown repeatedly that he has the strategic insight to effectively lead organizations and individuals through challenging moments and an ever evolving media landscape,“ said Precision Co-Founder Stephanie Cutter. “We are thrilled to welcome Mitchell to Precision and look forward to him bringing his breadth of expertise to bear for our clients.”

Prior to joining APCO, Mitchell was a Senior Director at Sunshine Sachs where he co-led the crisis management and strategic communications practice. He also had stints at Peppercomm and Finsbury where he specialized in financial communications, investor relations, and public affairs. Previous to his agency career, Mitchell served as the Deputy Regional Director for Senator Arlen Specter and in the Department of Commerce for the City of Philadelphia.
