Marissa Astor is a communications strategist with more than a decade of experience in politics and public affairs. At Precision, she works with nonprofit organizations and leading technology and health care companies to build and execute comprehensive plans to reach their strategic goals, develop clear and targeted messaging to mobilize people, and land top-tier media coverage.

Prior to joining Precision, Marissa served as deputy press secretary to Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, where she helped state officials effectively communicate with diverse populations around complex issues and historic moments including a global pandemic, Medicaid expansion, and multiple Democratic-led legislative sessions that produced generational victories. She previously worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and on President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, serving in surrogate operations and communications roles. She also served as a White House intern in the Office of the Senior Advisor to the President.

Marissa graduated from Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in political science and psychology.
